Self-Post Graduate Program Review (PGPR) Activity 2022-23

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur is focusing to strengthen the quality research culture in the university. To achieve this objective all postgraduate programs are reviewed annually to monitor the performance of the Departments offering postgraduate programs, and to look for the room of improvement. QEC has arranged a two-day Self-Post Graduate Program Review (PGPR) at MUST, Mirpur on 05-06 January, 2023.

Following Self-Review panel of MUST Mirpur (including one external member) evaluated all the MS / M. Phil. and PhD programs:

v. Dr. Imran Ali (Member) Associate Professor Department of Biotechnology, MUST
vi. Dr. Sehrish Shafi (Member/Secretary) Assistant Professor Department of English, MUST

Two Days Self-Post Graduate Program Review (PGPR) activity for the year 2022-2023 was held in the Electrical Conference Room, MUST Mirpur AJK. The activity was organized by the Director QEC, Dr. Azhar Hussain, under the leadership of honorable Vice Chancellor Brig.(R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed S.I (M), and with the collaboration of Registrar & Treasurer Office.

On first day, Prof. Dr. Khizar ul Haq, Registrar MUST, welcomed the Self-Review Panel. In the opening session, Review panel was briefed by Deputy Director QEC, Dr. Sohaib Manzoor, about the status of all the postgraduate programs running at MUST, Mirpur AJK. After the briefing, panel reviewed all the documents of the university according to HEC PGPR guidelines, and documented all the findings. The review panel, on the first day, also interacted with the students, faculty, Heads of academic departments offering postgraduate programs, and with the Directors, and concerned Deans. On the second day, after finishing the paperwork of all the review activity, the panel visited classrooms, laboratories and libraries of the selected departments to observe/check the facilities, and pieces of evidence were recorded.

The panel prepared the final draft report before closing the activity. It was followed by the exit meeting with Prof. Engr. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, MUST Mirpur. In the exit meeting the panel shared the salient features of the report with Prof. Engr. Dr. Anwar Khitab. The review panel appreciated the QEC Team MUST for organizing the successful two days activity. External Member of the Panel, Dr. Hafiz Haider Ali, admired the standard of education, facilities, and QEC MUST efforts, to achieve heights of quality education. He also appreciated the worthy Vice Chancellor for his excellent efforts to uplift the research culture of the university at the national and international level. The activity was closed with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Head of the Self-PGPR Committee.
