Career Counselling

A Career Counselling Centre has been established for guidance to the students to help them in career selection. The centre is open to all students including those who wish to change or leave their courses andgraduates especially first year.Counselling service helps students acquire personal skills, self-knowledge and psychological resources which will enhance their university learning in terms of developing their full potential as students and emotionally healthy members of the community. This is achieved through counselling students individually or in groups; by contributing to the University environment through consultation and training; by studying the environment and recommending changes based on research data and judgment.Counselling service also helps in career planning and career opportunity.

The University is well known for its strong links with business and we are keen to build up this to encourage enterprise culture among students and teaching staff. Internship has been made compulsory for all students studying at the University at all levels.

Welfare

The Directorate of Students Affairs provides help in all possible ways in promoting talent and developing the personality of the students. It organizes seminars, symposia, debates and also provides an appropriate forum to the students to freely express and share their views, perceptions and experiences. It also organizes educational tours to give wide exposure on educational and development programmes of the state / country. Students’ career counselling centre has been established, which provides guidance in all matters from admission to job placement at the end of their study programmes.The University has maintained a fund for the welfare of the students. The tuition fee of those students whose father/guardian die during their course of study will be waived off.

Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences of Mirpur University & Health Department of AJ&K inked MoU to boost cooperation & research in Allied Health Sciences

Major General Zaheer Akhtar, Secretary Health Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir and Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the office of Secretary Health AJ&K on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1100 hours.

The MoU will provide Internships and hospital training to all departments of Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FoH&MS) and will pave a way for joint action to further enhance efficiency, quality of education and uplifting of existing health apparatus of the institution. Three major medical facilities of the Mirpur Division i.e. Divisional Teaching Hospital Mirpur, New City Hospital Mirpur and DHQ Hospital Bhimber AJ&K will come in close cooperation with FoH&MS of MUST, Mirpur.

Ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Dean Faculty Anwar Khitab, Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Brigadier Nafeesa khan, Dr. Mian Muhammad Zeeshan Javed, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy / Department of Physical Therapy and and Dr. Sumaira Irum Khan, Coordinator, Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics/Department of Allied & Health Sciences.

 MUST, Mirpur signed MoU with Alkhidmat Foundation AJ&K on the Local Start-Up Financial Assistance

An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K and Dr. Abdur Rehman, Child Specialist / President Alkhidmat Foundation Bhimber AJ&K to formalize and enhance the relationship between Mirpur University and Alkhidmat Foundation. Recognizing that such cooperation shall promote economic cooperation and support the friendly relationship between both parties.

Mirpur University Inked an MoU with Azad Kashmir Association for the Blind (AKAB) for Academic Exchange Program and Volunteer Work

Department of Computer System Engineering (CSE) of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur joined hands with Azad Kashmir Association for the Blind (AKAB) Complex, Mirpur for the Academic Exchange Program and Volunteer Work.

Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur and Prof. Ilyas Ayoub Principal AKAB School for Blind, Mirpur, signed MoU on Monday, October 31, 2022 at AKAB School.

Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University highlighted the challenges faced by the blind community due to the non-availability resources & proper care. He further said Mirpur University will provide all technical support for strengthening various areas of mutual interest. He assured mutual efforts will help to counter challenges being faced by visually impaired persons & they will definitely get due relevance and attention.

MUST Signed MoU with Professional Education Foundation (PEF) for Undergraduate Scholarships

Students Assistance Centre (SAC) of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur signed an MoU with Professional Education Foundation (PEF) in the Conference Room of MUST Secretariat Jari Khas on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 11:30 hrs.

Dr. Moshin Zafar, Director Students Assistance Centre of Mirpur University & Maarab Bashir, Manager Student’s Affairs, Professional Education Foundation (PEF) signed the MoU in presence of Prof. Dr. Anwar khtiab, Acting Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ghous, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities / Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad khalique, Treasurer MUST, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Mr. Duad Ali Siddique, SPS to Vice Chancellor, Mr. Ghafoor Dar, Additional Registrar and Mr. Zahir Ali Akbar, Deputy Director SAC.

Professional Education Foundation (PEF) is a registered Trust for supporting deserving students for studies in the field of Engineering, Medical, Agriculture, Management Sciences, and other disciplines. Trust is having its place of business at 1st Commercial Lane, Phase 6, DHA, Karachi & It has 2300 Alumni Students since it’s inception in 2009 and 2200 active students in over the Pakistan, who are getting education under their financial support in 41 Universities. In financial year 2021-22 PEF has reimbursed 140 million in all across the country.

MUST, Mirpur is the very first university of AJ&K that has signed an MoU with the Professional Educational Foundation (PEF). Foundation will provide 50 Undergraduate Scholarships for financial year 2022-23 for students of Computer Science and Information Technology, which will include complete tution fee & boarding expenses for Fall 2022 entry (covering all eight semesters). According to the agreement PEF will increase number of Scholarships to 200 in next four years.

MUST, Korea South East Power (KOEN – AJ&K) Signed MoU to Provide Internships to Engineering Students

Brig (R) Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur received foreign delegation (Korea South East Power Co. Ltd (KOEN – AJ&K) at MUST Secretariat Jari Khas on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10:30 hrs.

Prof. Dr. Khazir Ul Haq, Registrar MUST, Prof. Dr. Syed Mujtaba Jafri, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Naseem Akhtar, Director Graduate Placement Bureau & Dr. Sajjad Manzoor, Chairman Computer System Engineering & Senior Private Secretary accompanied Vice Chancellor at the reception of delegacy.

A high-level delegation of Korea South East Power Co. Ltd was comprised of following members :-

Lieutenant Colonel (R) Muhammad Riaz, liaison officer, introduced the Korea South East Power Co. Ltd (KOEN – AJ&K). He said MUST is known for its academia, research and professional excellence. He further added that Korean counter part greatly values MUST vital role in nation building, especially it’s services for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Liaison officer spoke high of Brigadier Younis Javed for his decades long unmatched services for the noble profession & especially for his repute as a International evaluator, is praiseworthy.

Mr. Choi Won Yong, Plant General Manger head of the Korean team, thanked Vice Chancellor MUST for organising this event & paying them warm reception. General manager said that they [Korean] while travelling and interacting with Pakistani people, found them greatly hospitable with rich and diverse culture & tradition.

Prof. Dr. Syed Mujtaba Jafri, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology gave detailed presentation in which delegates were briefed about the Inception / History of Mirpur University, existing infrastructure & University Master Plan – which would likely be completed by 2052 (Comprises of VII Phases), number of faculties & departments, achievements of the University at National and International level programmes and disciplines being offered at University.

Dr. Naseem Akhtar, Director Graduate Placement Bureau (GPB) briefed about working of her directorate. She said GPB gives utmost importance to assist University Students in getting suitable placements after the successful completion of their degrees and also provides right skills & domain knowledge to all the students so that they can fetch better jobs at industry and firms.

On completion of the briefings of Dean FoE&T & Director GPB, Mr. Muhammad Ejaz, Human Resource Officer (HRO) with delegation asked various questions on behalf of the visiting delegation in attempt to give Koreans better understanding of the MUST, Mirpur. Questions of HRO were addressed by University panel which was headed by Brigadier Younis Javed.

MUST, Mirpur Inked MoU with Smart Infrastructure and Industry Research (SIIR) Group of Manchester Metropolitan University ( UK)

A MoU has been signed between Smart Infrastructure and Industry Research (SIIR) Group of Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom( UK) and Control, Automotive & Robotics Lab (CARLAB), National Center of Robotics and Automation – NCRA , Mirpur University of Science & Technology, AJ&K, Pakistan.
From MUST side Vice Chancellor MUST Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) and Director ORIC/ CARLAB Dr. Faisal Riaz signed the MoU. Whereas from Manchester Metropolitan University side Director Research Engineering Prof. Dr. Bamidele Adebisi and Core Member SIIR Dr. Umar Raza Umar Raza signed the MoU. According to MoU both universities will exchange research scholars and will work in the field of smart mobility solutions, joint research publications and research fundings.
Further, a live project regarding next generation self-driving vehicles will be initiated as a joint venture between both universities.

MUST, Mirpur Inked MoU with AJK Woman Development Department (WDD)

An MoU was signed between Azad Jammu and Kashmir Woman Development Department (WDD) and MUST for provision of support equipment for Day Care Center (DCC) situated at Electrical Engineering Department (EED) today on 24-03-22.

Prof.Dr. Khizar-Ul-Haq, Registrar (MUST) and Sardar Muhammad Shakeel Khan Deputy Director Azad Jammu and Kashmir Woman Development Department (WDD) signed the MoU. Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Chairman Department of Electrical Engineering provided technical assistance to the Registrar. The MoU will help to improve existing facilities of Day Care Centre (DCC).

Brigadier Gulzareen & Brigadier Muhammad Azad, Mangla Garrison were called on Vice Chancellor MUST

Brigadier Gulzareen, Commander 26 Brigade & Brigadier Muhammad Azad, Commander 101 Brigade, Mangla Garrison were called on Brigadier (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Javed SI(M) Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur at University Secretariat Jari Khas on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 12:00 hrs. Lieutenant Colonel (R) Muhammad Usman accompanied senior Military Commanders to Jari Khas.
Matters of mutual interest, University ranking, education policies and MUST contributions for the State of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed. Visiting dignitaries recognised & appreciated Brigadier Younis Javed's sincere efforts & role in upbringing of Mirpur University. Vice Chancellor, thanked Brigadier Gulzareen and Brigadier Azad for paying visit to Mirpur University of Science and Technology.

National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE), visited MUST

The National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE), visited Department of Education MUST, Mirpur from February 16, 2022 to February 19, 2022 for the Accreditation of Undergraduate & Postgraduate programs.
Orientation session was attended by the NACTE team & Principals Officers. Orientation session was followed by the extensive visit of infrastructure, classrooms & observations of documentary analysis.
On closing day National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) team comprising of Secretary NACTE, Dr Khalid Mahmood, Dean Faculty of Education University of Baltistan, Skardu, Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Shah & Dr Najam ul Kashif Assistant Professor, IUB, Bahawalpur called on Brig (R) Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur.
Brigadier Younis Javed thanked the officials of National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) & presented shields.

پاکستان سپیشل ٹیکنالوجی زون اتھارٹی کے چیئرمین عامر احمد ہاشمی نے میرپور سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی یونیورسٹی کے جڑی کس کیمپس کا دورہ کیا اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد یونس جاوید نے انھیں بریفنگ دی اور بتایا کہ یونیورسٹی کے پاس 5000کنال رقبہ ہے جس میں سے دو ہزار کنال رقبہ سپیشل سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی زون کے لیے دیا جائیگا انھوں نے کہا کہ مسٹ یونیورسٹی ایک بہترین یونیورسٹی ہے اور اس کے پاس جدید ٹیکنالوجی کے تمام ڈیپارٹمنٹ موجود ہیں اس لحاظ سے سپیشل سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی زون کے قیام سے جہاں ہمارے طلبا و طالبات کی صلاحیتیں اجاگر ہوں گی وہاں انھیں روزگار کے مواقع ملیں گے اور صنعتی ترقی ہوگی۔اس زون میں بیرون ممالک سے سرمایہ کار بھی آئیں گے جس سے یہاں ٹیکنالوجی کی تعلیم سمیت معاشی و اقتصادی سرگرمیوں میں اضافہ ہوگا۔
اس موقع پر وزیر اعظم آزادکشمیر کے معاون خصوصی چوہدری محمد اقبال نے کہاکہ سپیشل سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی زون کا قیام وزیر اعظم آزادکشمیر سردار عبدالقیوم نیازی اور صدر ریاست بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری کا خواب تھا جو پایہ تکمیل کو پہنچنے والا ہے اس زون سے آزادکشمیر اور پاکستان بھر سے طلبا و طالبات انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی میں مہارت حاصل کریں گے انھوں نے وزیر اعظم پاکستان عمران خان کا شکریہ ادا کیا جن کی ہدایت پر پاکستان سپیشل ٹیکنالوجی زون اتھارٹی کے چیئرمین عامر احمد ہاشمی اپنے وفد کے ہمراہ میرپور تشریف لائے اور سائیٹ کا معائنہ کیا۔
پاکستان سپیشل ٹیکنالوجی زون اتھارٹی کے چیئرمین عامر احمد ہاشمی نے کہا کہ میرپور سپیشل سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی زون کی سائیٹ پاکستان بھر میں خوبصورت ترین ہے انھوں نے کہا کہ وزیرا عظم پاکستان عمران خان جلد اس سپیشل سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی زون کا سنگ بنیاد رکھیں گے جس کے بعد یہاں انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کے متعلق ڈیجیٹل اور ای بزنس میں انقلاب برپا ہوگا۔مسٹ یونیورسٹی کے ساتھ ٹیکنالوجی اور ریسرچ ڈویلپمنٹ کے متعلق کمپنیوں کے ساتھ راوبط استوار ہوں گے۔انھوں نے کہاکہ چین سمیت دنیا بھر میں ترقی کا انقلاب سائنس اینڈ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کی بدولت ہے اس حوالے سے وزیر اعظم پاکستان آزادکشمیر میں انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی میں ترقی دیکھنا چاہتے ہیں اگر آئی ٹی میں معیاری تعلیم کے لیے بہتر اقدامات نہ اٹھائے گے تو ہم دنیا کی ترقی سے بہت پیچھے رہ جائیں گے۔

صدر آزاد جموں وکشمیر و چانسلر آزاد جموں وکشمیر جامعات بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری کی زیر صدارت آزاد کشمیر کی پانچوں جامعات کے وائس چانسلرز کی کانفرنس کا انعقاد آج یہاں ایوان صدر کشمیر ہاؤس اسلام آباد میں ہوا۔ اس موقع پر کانفرنس میں پانچوں یونیورسٹیز کو درپیش مسائل اور اُن کی کارکردگی بہتر بنانے کے لئے لائحہ عمل طے کرنے پر گفتگو کی گئی۔ کانفرنس میں وائس چانسلر یونیورسٹی آف آزاد جموں وکشمیر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کلیم عباسی، وائس چانسلر میرپور یونیورسٹی آف سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی بریگیڈئیر (ر) ڈاکٹر محمد یونس جاوید، وائس چانسلر یونیورسٹی آف پونچھ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمدرسول جان، وائس چانسلر یونیورسٹی آف کوٹلی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر دلنواز احمد گردیزی، وائس چانسلر وویمن یونیورسٹی آف آزاد جموں وکشمیر باغ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالحمید، ایڈیشنل چیف سیکرٹری ہائیر ایجوکیشن ڈاکٹر لیاقت، سیکرٹری صدارتی امور ڈاکٹر آصف حسین اور سیکرٹری مالیات عصمت اللہ شاہ شریک تھے۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر ز نے اپنی اپنی یونیورسٹیز کو درپیش مشکلات اور مسائل سے صدر آزاد جموں وکشمیر و چانسلر آزاد جموں وکشمیر جامعات بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری کو آگاہ کیا۔ اس موقع پر صدر آزاد جموں وکشمیربیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری نے جامعات کو درپیش مسائل و مشکلات اور اُن کے حل کے لئے چیف سیکرٹری آزادکشمیر کی سربراہی میں یونیورسٹیز کی ایک کمیٹی قائم کر دی جس میں پانچوں جامعات کے وائس چانسلرز، سیکرٹری خزانہ، سیکرٹری ہائر ایجوکیشن، سیکرٹری صدارتی امور اس کمیٹی کے ممبران ہونگے، جو کہ ایک ماہ کے اندر چانسلر آزاد جموں وکشمیر یونیورسٹیز بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری کو اپنی رپورٹ پیش کرے گی تاکہ تمام تر توجہ معیار تعلیم کو بہتر بنانے پر مرکوز کی جا سکے۔ اس موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے صدر آزاد جموں وکشمیر و چانسلر آزاد جموں وکشمیر جامعات بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری نے کہا کہ ہماری تمام ترتوانائیاں ریاست میں نظام تعلیم کو بہتر بنانے پرصرف ہونی چاہیں۔ لہذا آپ لوگ اپنی تمام تر توجہ آزادکشمیر کی جامعات میں معیار تعلیم کی بہتری پر مرکوز کریں۔

MoU Signing Cermony between MUST and (HPTI) Mangla WAPDA

A MOU has been signed between Hydropower training Institute (HPTI) Mangla WAPDA and MUST. HPTI is second state of the art Hydro Power training institute of WAPDA established in Mangla. It will offer learning opportunities for young Engineers and Technologist of MUST. Dr. Faisal Riaz (Director ORIC), Engr. Dr. Ghulam Qadar Chaudhary (Manager Innovations and Commercialization), and Mr. Faisal Latif Chaudhary (Manager BIC) participated from MUST side Whereas Engr. Aurangzeb (Chief Engineer/ Principal HPTI Mangla), Mirza Arshad (Chief Engineer Power), Engr. Dr. Akram Ali (Director HPTI), Engr. Muhammad Tariq (Additional Chief Engineer), and Engr. Ali Imran (Dy. Director HPTI) from WAPDA participated in MOU ceremony.

Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M) Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and technology (MUST) Mirpur, addressed to the audience today in a Ceremony organised by Founder Chairman Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT), Chaudhary Muhammad Akhtar Sitara-i-Imtiaz, chaired by His Excellency President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir & Chancellor MUST, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary. A large number of people, including high ranking Officials, attended the Ceremony at Mirpur.

Inaugurated Water Filtration Plant at Jari Kass Campus of MUST

Brig (R) Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M) Vice Chancellor MUST & Chaudhary Muhammad Akhtar Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Founder Chairman Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT) inaugurated water filtration plant at Jari Kass Campus of MUST on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Brigadier (R)Younus Javed praised & recognized the services which are being rendered by Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust and thanked Founder Chairman KORT for providing fresh water facility. Representatives of KORT, Registrar, Treasurer, Chairman Department of Mechanical Engineering / Energy Manager KORT, SPS to Vice Chancellor, Director Estate, Deputy Project Director, Transport Officer, Admin Officer & Estate Supervisor take part in the Inauguration ceremony. Founder Chairman KORT Chaudhary Muhammad Akhtar, Sitara-i-Imtiaz acknowledged the resolve & extraordinary dedication of Brigadier Younis Javed for uplifting of Mirpur University. He also showed great commitment to work together for launching such ventures in future, to help both organisations to achieve their goals.

The closing ceremony of Three days training titled as "Veterinary Diagnostic and Surveillance Techniques" at Veterinary Academy University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore was held on 07-01-2022.
Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Javaid SI (M) Vice Chancellor MUST graced the occassion as Chief Guest. Moreover, at the end of session, the Vice Chancellor MUST distributed certificates among the participants.

MUST and Mangla Metals sign MoU

On October 21, 2021 a high level meeting held in MUST Secretariat to amicably resolve the ongoing issue of land dispute/settlement and reach negotiated settlement between MUST Mirpur & Mangla Metals/ Mangla Steel & Re-Rolling Mills Pvt. Ltd various phase of discussion held between both sides which finally reached to settlement with mutual consensus.
