Mirpur University Celebrated Defence Day with Great Jubilation and National Unity
Brig.(R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur graced the celebration of 6th September ” Youm -e-Difa “. Event was organized by Directorate of Student’s Affairs with collaboration of Faculty of Medical Sciences and Students Development Circle (SDC) at 10:00 hrs in Mechanical Hall of the City Campus of the University on Tuesday, September 06, 2022.
Mirpur University marked 6th September as a National Day to memorialize Pakistan Armed Forces successful defence against India at the battle of 1965 and to honor the soldiers who crushed enemy’s evil designs & have laid down their lives while gallantly fighting against the Indian Force.
Brigadier Younis Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST, while expressing his views on یوم دفاع پاکستان very warmly & ardently praised the National Heroes of 1965 war. He said they are truly above all encomium and entire Nation is awed by their glorious sacrifices which they made in way of defending our beloved motherland in Indo-Pakistani War of 1965.
Vice Chancellor further said this day of observation is to salute, pay tribute and homage to all those who have fought valiantly to preserve the sovereignty of the nation. He added that by the grace of Almighty Allah Pakistan’s defence is unassailable and Armed Forces of Pakistan are capable of defeating all the aggressions & nefarious designs of the enemy. He also said any misadventure by Indian forces would certainly result in their humiliating defeat.
In his closing words Brigadier Younis also paid respect to the great sacrifices of the unarmed innocent people of Indian Occupied Kashmir who have been fighting for their right to self-determination.
Students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences & Students Development Circle (SDC) participated in the event, where they delivered speeches, presented national songs and displayed documentaries followed by poetry.
Engr Shaid Ameen, Provost Hostels / Assistant Professor Electrical Engineering spoke in connection to the Defence Day & highlighted the importance & spirit of the day.
Brigadier Younis Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST handed over certificates to the organizers and lauded the efforts of Dr Muhammad Altaf, Director Student’s Affairs, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Students Development Circle (SDC), Deputy Director, Admin Officer and Staff of Directorate of Student’s Affairs for marvelously organizing the Event.
