Mirpur University Observed the First Death Anniversary of Veteran Kashmiri Leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani
To observe the first death anniversary of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Directorate of Student’s Affairs in collaboration with Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur organized a seminar to pay tributes Baba-e-Hurriyat for his lifelong struggle for right to self-determination of oppressed Kashmiris, on Thursday, September 01, 2022 at 12:00 hrs in Mechanical Hall of the City Campus of the University.
Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Director Student’s Affairs, Dr. Sara Shah, Coordinators Department of Education, Dr. Asghar Ali Khan, Director Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS), Mr. Kashif Najeeb, Coordinator Department of Media and Communications Studies, Mr. Ansir Ali Khan, Deputy Director Student’s Affairs, faculty members and Students IIS were the participants of the Seminar.
Dr. Asghar Ali Khan, Director Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) Dr. Sajid Ahmed, former Director Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS), Dr. Thair Aslam Assistant Professor IIS, Dr. Razi Razvi Assistant Professor Department of Education, Mr. Mustafa Anaqlabi, Lecturer IIS delivered their talks to highlight the various aspects of Ali Shah Geelani’s uncompromising struggle for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, supreme sacrifices he made during the whole journey and how he became popular symbol of resistance against Indian occupational forces.
They further added Youm-e-Baba-e-Hurriyat will continue to inspire young people of Jammu and Kashmir to unite against brutal, barbaric & primitives acts on innocent Kashmiris by Indian security forces in form of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial executions and obliteration the Muslim identity & civilization of occupied Kashmir.
