Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FoN&AS) of Mirpur University Paid Homage to Retiring Pre-Eminent Academicians on Standout Careers
Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FoN&AS) of Mirpur University organized farewell ceremony in honor of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aziz Chaudhary, Professor Chemistry / Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences / former Chairman Chemistry and Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood, Professor Physics / former Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences / Controller of Examinations MUST & Chairman Physics, for discharging three decades long services for promoting excellence in the education sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Brig.(R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Javed SI(M) Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur graced the occasion as Chief Guest. While talking to the participatents Brigadier Younis commended, recognized & acknowledged the unparalleled services of esteemed Professors of the Mirpur University.
He further said that they have earned this huge respect with untiring efforts, dedication, professionalism which they have depicted in their entire lifelong careers. He added that both respectable teachers have inspired, imparted the right skills & knowledge to the students and also left footprints for the young faculty members.

1. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aziz Chaudhary, Professor Chemistry

Chairman Department of Chemistry (January 2010 – April 2013 & June 2021 – July 2022)
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aziz Chaudhary produced three (03) Ph.D, thirty-two (32) M.Phil & forty (40) M.S.c students in the field of Chemistry. He has also near one hundred research publications in his credit.
2. Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood, Professor Physics
Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences from March 2019 – March 2022.

Chairman Department of Physics (January 2010 – April 2015)
Director Advance and Research Board (September 2015 – November 2015)
Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood has produced three (03) Ph.D, fifty-one (51) M.Phil and twenty-one (21) M.S.c students in the field of Physics. He has also Published 45 papers in I.F Journals.
Former Vice Chancellors MUST – Habib-ur-Rehman, SI, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Chaudhary & Prof. Dr. Rehana Asghar, TI, were special guests of the ceremony. Former Registrars of Mirpur University – Prof. Dr. Riaz Mughal, Engr Shahbir Mirza & Engr Muhammad Waris were also invited to the event.

Prof. Dr. Aziz Chaudhary & Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood shared their experiences and memories. Later they extended thanks to all participants & organizers for marking their retirements in a splendid way.
Vice Chancellor MUST presented shields to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aziz Chaudhary & Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood in recognition of their decade’s long services for the growth and well-being of the society.
Brigadier Younis Javed also lauded the efforts of Faculty of the Natural and Applied Sciences and the organizing Committee for holding the farewell ceremony in the honor of outgoing mentors of the Mirpur University.
