Mirpur University Holds Election to Elect Senator for Assistant Professor constituency
Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur conducted Election to elect a Senator for the highest body of the University under the constituency of Assistant Professor on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Election was held under Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Chairperson Department of Chemistry / Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) – Returning Officer aided by Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Presiding Officer & Mr. Zahid Mehmood, Polling Officer for the constituency of Assistant Professor.
Contesting Candidates of the Constituency of Assistant Professor for the Membership of University Senate are as follows : –
1. Dr. Nasim Akhter, Assistant Professor
2. Dr. Shahid Aziz, Assistant Professor
3. Engr. Munawar Sultan, Assistant Professor
Two polling booths were setup at Mirpur (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences – MUST Old Secretariat) and MUST Bhimber Campus. The polling simultaneously carried out at both polling stations from 09:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs in a placid environment.
Details of the eligible voters according to final electoral roll of Assistant Professor (A/P) are as under :-
1. Total Voters (A/P) = 77
2. Vote Polled = 70
(Mirpur & Bhimber Polling Stations)
3. Correct votes = 69
4. Votes Rejected = 01
5. Voter Turnout = 90.91 %
Results declared by Returning Officer (positions) : –
1. Engr Munwar Sultan, ascended to the 1st position, with 27 votes.
2 . Dr. Shahid Aziz, stood at 2nd position, with 24 votes.
3. Dr. Naseem Akhtar, at 3rd Position with 18 votes.
At the culmination of the polling session, Returning Officer forwarded results of the election to the Office of the Registrar MUST for further process.
