delivered his talk on One-day awareness session “Blockchain”. Awareness Session was organized by Kamyab Jawan Markaz (KJM) MUST with the collaboration of CS&IT Department of the faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences & Society of CS & IT (SOCIT) in Hall of Mechanical Engineering on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 hrs.
Guest Speaker, Dr. Abdullah Yousufzai enlightened the University Students of CS&IT on Blockchain, it’s evolution stages since 2008, applications in use and future perspectives / extensions of the Blockchain.
Dr. Abdullah Yousufzai said primary benefit of blockchain is as a database for recording transactions, especially in digital currency but its benefits extend far beyond those of a traditional database.To further elaborate the topic, Speaker broadly covered areas which include ;
1. Evolution of trust on Blockchains.
2. Utility of Blockchains & Development Models.
3. Semantics of Blockchain-based Systems.
4. Explained basic components (I-VI)
Dr. Moshin Zafar, Focal Person Kamyab Jawan Markaz (KJM) -MUST /Director SAC in his opening words, thanked Guest Speaker Dr. Abdullah Yousufzai for delivering great knowledge on a immutable digital ledger that will facilitate University students (specially those who are having IT background) in process of recording transactions and tracking assets in a business network of digital currency/ cryptocurrency. Director also thanked Coordinator CS&IT, Society of CS&IT and organisers of the awareness session.
Dr. Yasir Mehmood, Coordinator department of CS&IT on the closing of the session thanked Guest Speaker Dr. Abdullah Yousufzai & Focal Person Kamyab Jawan Markaz MUST. He said such sessions are paving ways for University Students to know practical side of their knowledge.
