MUST, Korea South East Power (KOEN – AJ&K) Signed MoU to Provide Internships to Engineering Students
Brig (R) Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur received foreign delegation (Korea South East Power Co. Ltd (KOEN – AJ&K) at MUST Secretariat Jari Khas on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10:30 hrs.
Prof. Dr. Khazir Ul Haq, Registrar MUST, Prof. Dr. Syed Mujtaba Jafri, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Naseem Akhtar, Director Graduate Placement Bureau & Dr. Sajjad Manzoor, Chairman Computer System Engineering & Senior Private Secretary accompanied Vice Chancellor at the reception of delegacy.
A high-level delegation of Korea South East Power Co. Ltd was comprised of following members :-
1. Mr. Choi Won Yong, Plant General Manager.
2. Mr. Lee Ui Jong, Head of Operations Department.
3. Mr. Kim Hyeon Cheol, Head of Maintenance Department.
4. Mr. Jeong Dong Hae, Head of Support & Services Department.
5. Lieutenant Colonel (R) Muhammad Riaz, Liaison Officer / HR Manager.
6. Mr. Muhammad Ijaz, Human Resource Officer.
Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M) Vice Chancellor MUST, greeted the honourable foreign guests & liaison Officials, he also expressed his deep gratitude for the Korean delegation for paying visit to Mirpur University.
Lieutenant Colonel (R) Muhammad Riaz, liaison officer, introduced the Korea South East Power Co. Ltd (KOEN – AJ&K). He said MUST is known for its academia, research and professional excellence. He further added that Korean counter part greatly values MUST vital role in nation building, especially it’s services for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Liaison officer spoke high of Brigadier Younis Javed for his decades long unmatched services for the noble profession & especially for his repute as a International evaluator, is praiseworthy.
Mr. Choi Won Yong, Plant General Manger head of the Korean team, thanked Vice Chancellor MUST for organising this event & paying them warm reception. General manager said that they [Korean] while travelling and interacting with Pakistani people, found them greatly hospitable with rich and diverse culture & tradition.
Prof. Dr. Syed Mujtaba Jafri, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology gave detailed presentation in which delegates were briefed about the Inception / History of Mirpur University, existing infrastructure & University Master Plan – which would likely be completed by 2052 (Comprises of VII Phases), number of faculties & departments, achievements of the University at National and International level programmes and disciplines being offered at University.
Dr. Naseem Akhtar, Director Graduate Placement Bureau (GPB) briefed about working of her directorate. She said GPB gives utmost importance to assist University Students in getting suitable placements after the successful completion of their degrees and also provides right skills & domain knowledge to all the students so that they can fetch better jobs at industry and firms.
On completion of the briefings of Dean FoE&T & Director GPB, Mr. Muhammad Ejaz, Human Resource Officer (HRO) with delegation asked various questions on behalf of the visiting delegation in attempt to give Koreans better understanding of the MUST, Mirpur. Questions of HRO were addressed by University panel which was headed by Brigadier Younis Javed.

Kotli, AJ&K signed Memorandum of understanding (MoU), Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology & Director Graduate Placement Bureau were also signatory Officers. Company will offer Internships to the following Engineering Departments of Mirpur University :-
i. Civil Engineering Technology.
ii. Electrical Engineering.
iii. Mechanical Engineering.
iv. Civil Engineering.
v. Electrical Engineering Technology
