President AJ&K / Chancellor MUST Graced Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking-2022 Ceremony
Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur along with Deans & Principal Staff Officers received His Excellency Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir / Chancellor MUST, at City Campus of the University on the eve of Celebration and Award distribution Ceremony of First MUST Ranking by Times Higher Education Impact Ranking- 2022 on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:00 hrs.
Prof. Dr. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gerdazi, former Vice Chancellor MUST/ Vice Chancellor University of Kotli, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed, Vice Chancellor, AJ&K Women University Bagh, Dr. Syed Asif Hussain, Secretary Presidential Affairs and former Vice Chancellors MUST – Habib-ur-Rehman, SI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarwar Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Chaudhary & Prof. Dr. Rehana Asghar, TI, were special guests of the ceremony.
Chaudhary Muhammad Raqeeb, Commissioner, Mirpur Division, Dr. Khalid Chohan, DIG Mirpur Division, Chaudhary Amjad Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur, Chaudhary Yasir Riaz, Additional Deputy Commissioner General, District Office-bearers eminent Educationalists, notables from Mirpur Division were also invited to grand ceremony to celebrate International fame & visibility to Mirpur University.
Brigadier Younis Javed, Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University in his opening words of speech paid rousing welcome to H. E. Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary, President of AJ&K/ Chancellor MUST in the Celebration and Award Distribution Ceremony of Time Higher Education Impact Ranking, 2022. He also showed great respect to all honorable guests for their arrival. Vice Chancellor stood thankful to the President AJ&K / Chancellor MUST for his consistent all out support & backing at highest National forums in administrative and financial matters.
He further said the faculty members, administrative officers & Staff are making all out efforts to raise standards of quality in teaching, learning and assessment methodologies at MUST & this day stands testimony to it as University is celebrating the tremendous success on gaining International recognition.
Brigadier Younis Javed paid tribute to former Vice Chancellors MUST for their great services & highlighted their vital contributions. Vice Chancellor congratulated Director Quality Enhancement Cell & his entire team for achieving 1st Position in Azad Kashmir, 53rd in Pakistan and 1001+ category / International Ranking and also commended Hult Prize winner Sawera Subhani for her great achievement – She is only Pakistani student in 174 National Universities who will representing Pakistan in Kenya, Norabi this year & lastly Vice Chancellor also lauded the achievement of American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) MUST Chapter for getting distinction in technical competition organized by Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF).
His Excellency Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir / Chancellor Mirpur University congratulated Brig.(R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor Mirpur University, faculty, staff and students of the University on being Ranked 1st in AJK, 53rd in Pakistan and 1001 internationally by the Time Higher Education Impact Ranking 2022. President AJ&K/ Chancellor Mirpur University eulogized the magnetic personality of Brigadier Younis Javed & MUST International visibility under his visionary leadership.
He further said quality of education is important to be competitive and therefore, it is a matter of satisfaction for us that Mirpur University has attained excellence. He said being a Barrister himself he always stressed on the importance of education as a powerful instrument in the mission to strengthen Pakistan’s socio-economic development.
President denounced the state level brutality being committed by India in Occupied Kashmir & he strongly condemned the life sentence awarded to Yasin Malik by Indian Court in recent verdict. President AJ&K further said Azad Kashmir is Base Camp for freedom of Kashmir and we all must stand with our oppressed Kashmiris who are under subjugation for decades.
Department of Home Economics MUST presented portrait (Painted by Ms Amina Gul, Lecturer Home Economics) of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik to His Excellency Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary.
Chancellor MUST presented Shields & Certificates of appreciation to those individuals who have tremendously contributed for achieving MUST Ranking in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking-2022, to the winners of Technical Competition organized by POF & Hult Prize winners. Later Shields were also presented to Former Vice Chancellors MUST in recognition of their services.
At the culmination of the ceremony Shields of honor were shared between His Excellency Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir / Chancellor Mirpur University & Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M) Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology.
