2700 Students Conferred Degrees on 7th Convocation 2022 of Mirpur University of Science and Technology by President AJ&K
His Excellency, Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary, President of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir /Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur graced the 7th Convocation 2022 of MUST, Mirpur in the City Campus of the University on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1045 hours. A total of 2700 passed-out students of Faculty Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Applied and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Business School and faculty of Health and Medical Sciences including 04 PhD’s and 48 Gold Medalist were awarded degrees by President State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir / Chancellor MUST, Mirpur.
Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur along with Deans of faculties and Principal Staff Officers extended a warm reception to honorable President AJ&K / Chancellor MUST on his arrival at 7th Convocation 2022 of Mirpur University. Prof. Dr. Khizar ul Haq, Registrar MUST and Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations MUST lead the Convocation procession. Later Registrar MUST conducted the entire proceeding of 7th Convocation 2022 of MUST, Mirpur.
The grand ceremony of 7th Convocation 2022 was attended Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed, Vice Chancellor, Women University, Bagh, Dr. Syed Asif Hussain, Secretary Presidential Affairs, former Vice Chancellors MUST (Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman, SI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarwar Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Chaudhary & Prof. Dr. Rehana Asghar, TI) Ch. Muhammad Mansha, former Director General, Mirpur Development and Housing Authority, Mr. Shoukat Ali, Commissioner, Mirpur Division, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Chohan, Deputy Inspector General Police, Lt. Col. Sohail Mehmood, Military Secretary to President, Mirpur, Ch. Amjad Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner, Mirpur, Mr. Yasir Riaz, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mirpur, Mr. Muhammad Javed Malik, District Information Officer, Mr. Abdul Qadir, Assistant Commissioner, Mirpur, eminent educationalists, notables from Mirpur Division, Representatives of Bar Councils, Representatives of Print and Electronic Media, Faculty member, Administrative Staff and passed-out University students along with their parents.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST paid warm welcome and thanked to His Excellency Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary President AJ&K / Chancellor MUST for honouring the Convocation 2022. Brigadier Younus congratulated graduating students and their proud parents, especially those who have attained Gold Medals and PhD degrees. While addressing the students he further said every passed out graduate must prove to be an ambassador of this great institution and should contribute in the development of the Country by displaying the same degree of commitment in the future as well.
Vice Chancellor MUST while highlighting major achievements of the University said 14933 graduates, 13875 BS, 1041 MS/ MPhils and 17 PhDs in different degree programs have been produced by Mirpur University. Today in total 2784 students are graduating, 2686 BS, 94 MS/ MPhil and 4 PhDs. 48 students are being decorated with Gold Medals.
Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary, President AJ&K / Chancellor MUST speaking on the occasion of 7th Convocation 2022, urged the graduates to be true to their motherland and serve humanity with devotion and passion. He asked the students to respect and take care of their parents and teachers who helped them to achieve this success.
President AJ&K congratulated Brig.(R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor MUST and his entire team for holding the mega event in befitting manner. He commended the towering role of Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST for providing extraordinary leadership to Mirpur University of Science and Technology & representing this institution on international platforms. He further said quality of education is important to be competitive and therefore, it is a matter of satisfaction for us that Mirpur University has attained excellence.
Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary said Pakistan and Azad Kashmir stands with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and being custodian of base camp for the struggle of independence of Kashmir there is huge responsibility on our shoulders to fight for them in all platforms of the world. Therefore, all passing-out graduates must devote their due share for freedom of oppressed innocent people of occupied Kashmir. He condemned the atrocities and gross human rights violation by the Indian Army in occupied Kashmir and paid homage to the brave people of the Kashmir.
Brig (R) Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M), Vice Chancellor MUST, presented University shield to His Excellency Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary, President AJ&K / Chancellor MUST. MUST Student, Momina Kazmi of Home Economics Department handed over portray (her work of art) to Chancellor MUST, later Vice Chancellor received University Shield from honorable President AJ&K. At the culmination of the ceremony Gold Medalist and PhD Scholars along with their faculties lead by Prof. Dr. Anwar khitab, Dean FoH&MS, Prof. Dr. Syed Hassan Mujtaba Jafri, Dean FoE&T, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ghous, Dean FoSS&H, Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Director MBS, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Dean FN&AS had group photos with honorable President AJ&K.
