MUST – Mechanical Engineering Students Overshadowed Competitors in National Level Technical Competition

Mechanical Engineering Department of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur under the dynamic leadership of education reformer Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST has achieved distinction at National canvas.

Wah Engineering College Taxila run by the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), organized a technical competition consisting of various modules titled as TECTRONIX’22 on 23rd and 24th of May in which students from leading Universities of Pakistan participated.

Students from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) MUST Chapter led by Engr. Dr. Ghulam Qadir Chaudhry participated and won the first positions in 7 out of total 9 competitions.

Students competed in Computer-Aided Designing, Water Rocket design and testing, Hydraulic Lifter design and testing, Aerodynamic Paper Plane, Speed Wiring, Speed Programming, and Brain of Techtronix’s.

On achieving said distinction, Chairperson of MED, Engr. Dr. Khuram Pervez said that Mechanical Engineering Department is determined to equip it’s students with innovative and creative ideas and skills and will continue to play it role in the strengthening of the MUST. Winning in 7 out of 9 technical modules in a national level competition clearly shows how good our students are.
He also acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Yamin Younis, Patron in Chief of ASME, Dr. Naveed Akram, Advisor, ASME. Dr. Khuram also thanked Dr. Faisal Riaz, Director ORIC for providing financial assistance to the Mechanical students.
