Mirpur University Holds 1st PakTESOL, Two-Days Regional Training Workshop for English Language Teachers

The English Department of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K, Allam Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad & Regional English Language Office (RELO) ventured Two-days training workshop for English Language Teachers at Mechanical Hall & Video Conference Room of the City Campus of the Mirpur University on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at 10:30 hrs.

Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ghous, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities / Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences was chief guest of the opening ceremony of 1st PakTESOL – 2 Days training workshop. Dr. Sehrish Shafi, Coordinator Department of English & Dr. Muhammad kamal Khan, Project Director, PakTESOL / Associate Professor, AIOU, Islamabad were the organizers of the event.

The opening ceremony was held at 10:30 hrs at Mechanical Hall of the City Campus of the University, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ghous, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities / faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Nasir Abbas, Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), Prof. Dr. Khawaja Rehman, Director Public Institutional of Colleges, Prof. Dr. Kamal Khan, Project Director PakTESOL and Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan, Chairman, Department of English, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of the workshop.

Prof. Dr. Syed Nasir Abbas, Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences and Dr. Nouman Hamid, Assistant Professor, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir invited speakers had training sessions with the participants on following themes

1. Learning a foreign language in multilingual context.

2. Constructing test items in Language assessment.
